Ladies and Gents,
This blog should serve as an extention of our class discussions. Please post well-written, thoughtful, but informal comments when the mood strikes you. I'm excited to read your ideas over the course of this semester.
Cheers,
Mr. Hastings
Hello guys, first post. Im humbled.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, did anyone struggle with this episode. Wow this one really smacked me around. I found it hard to keep up with Stephen's in and out mindset. I was also completely lost about the "made not begotten" part because I would think that not only would his body have a biological relation to his father, but also his soul. Anyone else with me?
Well sexy animal, in the Bible it states that Jesus was begotten, not made from God, and in this case Stephen says he was made in the opposite process. This means that Stephen, unlike Jesus, does not share the same essence as that of his father. This phrase displays his lack of connection with his father and it could also mean that he does not share a connection with God, displaying his lack of piousness. This lack of physical connection in Stephen's life displays him as a wanderer, much like Telemachus and Odysseus.
